1. Overview

Dark Mode Master is designed to apply dark mode styles to websites in your browser. We built the extension to work locally on your device by default. This means your browsing content and appearance settings are intended to stay inside your browser environment.

2. Data We Collect

Dark Mode Master does not require account registration and does not ask for personal profile information such as your name, phone number, or address.

  • Settings data may be stored locally in your browser (for example: theme preference, enabled/disabled status, site rules, and schedule settings).
  • If you enable location-based sunrise/sunset scheduling, your approximate coordinates may be stored locally to calculate schedule times.
  • We do not intentionally collect or store your browsing history on remote servers.
Important: based on the current product architecture, data is processed locally and is not sold to third parties.

3. How Data Is Used

Any locally stored settings are used strictly to deliver extension features, including dark mode rendering, per-site behavior, and optional automation like schedule mode. Data is not used for advertising profiling.

4. Browser Permissions

Dark Mode Master may request browser permissions required to perform its core functions. Depending on enabled features, these may include website access for style injection, local storage access for preferences, and optional geolocation for schedule calculation.

Permissions are used only for the corresponding feature and are not intended for unrelated tracking activities.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share local extension settings with data brokers. If legal compliance requires disclosure, we may respond only to valid legal requests.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Local extension settings remain in your browser until you change them, clear browser extension storage, or uninstall Dark Mode Master. Uninstalling the extension removes its local data according to browser behavior.

7. Security

We use a minimal-data approach to reduce risk. No software is fully risk-free, but limiting remote data storage significantly lowers exposure for user privacy.

8. Children's Privacy

Dark Mode Master is not specifically directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when product behavior, legal requirements, or platform rules change. Any updates will appear on this page with a new Last Updated date.

10. Terms of Use

By installing or using Dark Mode Master, you agree to use it lawfully and in accordance with browser platform policies. You are responsible for your local setup and compatibility with your browser version.

  • The extension is provided on an "as is" basis without guarantees of uninterrupted availability.
  • You agree not to misuse, reverse engineer for abuse, or attempt to distribute modified versions that violate applicable laws or platform rules.
  • Feature availability may change over time as browser APIs evolve.
